Yale U16s School Hockey League Champions

From Yale Sport Academy. Yale Hockey Academy’s U16 team won the inaugural Canadian Sport School Hockey League (CSSHL) Elite 15 Championship on the weeknd (March 1.) Yale’s U-16 team is part CSSHL which has eight teams in the Elite 15’s Division (U-16), from BC, Alberta and Idaho.

At the championship tournament, in the semi-finals, Yale came back from behind to defeat OHA (Okanagan Hockey Academy) 3-2 to advance to the championship finals.Next day in the finals against Pursuit of Excellence Academy from Winfield, the Abbotsford team trailed 2-0 going into the third period. But Yale rallied in that final frame to score 4 unanswered goals to win the Canadian Sport School Hockey League Championship 4-2.

Also, CSSHL Awards Night featured the following Yale winners:

  • Brett Clayton: Student Athlete of the Year Award.
  • Kohen Olischefski: MVP of the Year and Top Scorer.
  • Carter Shannon: Top Scorer and Most Sportsmanlike Player of the Year.
  • Liam McCloskey: Top Goaltender of the Year.
