By February 7, 2014Crime

Submitted. Last night at 11:30 pm, Abbotsford Police were called to a robbery at a motel in the 32000 block of Marshall Road. Two male suspects had entered the lobby brandishing handguns and a knife. They demanded cash from front desk clerk. She relinquished the small amount of cash in the register to the two mask wearing suspects. The clerk was not harmed but she was understandably shaken as a result of the robbery. This is the second robbery of an Abbotsford motel this week, with the other incident taking place on late on Sunday, February 2nd at a Sumas Way business.

Of additional interest in this robbery was that a male in his 40’s entered the motel lobby approximately 10 minutes before the suspects. He asked the clerk to make change for him and asked some questions about the motel before leaving without booking a room. Minutes later the suspects stormed in. Abbotsford Police investigators are looking to speak with this “customer” as he may be a witness or a person of interest in the robbery.

The robbery suspects are both described a Caucasian men with medium builds. They were both wearing masks with skull type designs on the front. One suspect was wearing a grey hoodie with black pants while the other wore a grey hoodie under a white and red sports jersey and grey pants. The first suspect carried a handgun while the second carried a gun and a knife.

Anyone with information about this incident should call the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or text APD at 222973 (abbypd) or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
