From Abbotsford Minor Hockey. The Abbotsford Bantam A4 team would like to thank all of their parents and supporters for a great season. The inaugural A.M.H.A. Bantam A4 team, came within one goal of advancing to the Provincial Championships!

Going into their last game of the Final Four against Langley, a team they had not beaten all year, Abbotsford needed to win the game and score five goals to win the tiebreak to stamp their ticket to the B.C.’s.

The boys came out with their best effort of the season, and beat the team that won league play one flight above them. With the score 4-2 for Abbotsford in the last minute of the game, the coaches pulled the goalie trying to get that elusive fifth goal.

Unfortunately, the plan did not work out and Langley scored on the open net to leave the final score 4-3. This was a bittersweet ending to a Cinderella season that started with four consecutive losses.

The coaches and athletes worked extremely hard all year and won the league banner after posting a 10 game winning streak, only to lose a berth in the Provincial Championships by one goal. Great work Players, coaches, and families.

GO HAWKS!!!
