Kiwanis Builders Clubs In Middle Schools

Builders Clubs are Kiwanis sponsored service leadership programs in middle schools, and two district schools have now established Builders Clubs: Abbotsford Middle and Clayburn Middle.

The Builders Club is open to all students in grades 6, 7, and 8 who are interested in helping out around their school, community, doing world service projects along with developing leadership skills.

The students find an ‘area of need’, and they decide how they can go about meeting that need, and organize fundraising.

Abbotsford Middle teacher-sponsors Jennifer Leeland and Sue Krause, along with their six student executive members gave a report on some of their activities since the start of the year, impressing trustees with the students’ effort, innovation and service.
