Travel Trailer Fire On Cassiar

Submitted. At approximately 03:30am June 12, 2014, Abbotsford Fire and Rescue Service responded to a report of a travel trailer fire on Cassiar Avenue. On arrival, fire crews reported that flames were shooting approximately 40 feet into the air and that there were propane tanks exploding.

The fire originated in a large fifth wheel trailer that was parked on the street and had spread to an adjoining fence. The exteriors of two neighboring houses as well as two cars and another 5th wheel trailer on an adjoining property were damaged by the radiant heat.

Fire crews were able to get the fire under control and the cause of the fire is currently under investigation by both Abbotsford Fire and the Abbotsford Police Department.

Total damage is estimated to be over $200,000. No one was injured.

Five Fire Trucks attended the incident. APD and BC Ambulance were also on scene.
