Woman Stabbed, APD Arrest Man Near Scene

Troy Alexander Perrin, a 24-year-old man from Abbotsford, has been charged with Attempt Murder, Assault with a Weapon and Abduction in relation to this investigation. Perrin has also been charged with six counts of breach to court ordered conditions involving “no contact” provisions and not to possess weapons.

The victim of the stabbing continues to demonstrate courage and determination in her recovery in hospital.

This morning at 9:00 am the Abbotsford Police received a 911 call from a residence in the 2700 block of Blackham Drive. The female caller reported that she had been stabbed a by man who took her baby and fled on foot. The victim indicated that the man was the father of the child and she had previously been in a relationship with him.

Abbotsford Police officers and BC Ambulance staff attended the area. The 23-year-old woman received treatment for multiple stab wounds to her body. APD members began an area search for the suspect and at 9:40 am he was located in a backyard a few hundred meters away from the scene. The 24-year-old man was taken into custody without further incident and the 18- month-old child that he had with him appeared physically unharmed.
